Great place

If you have a class A then this is the place to go.
Large sites , friendly staff , very quiet good water and power.
The only negative I have is the lack of shade trees and long walk to the only garbage dump on site.
Will be back.

Wide open space

We have a class A and were escorted to a large open section designed specially for our rig. Concrete pad for rig and seating areA are more then adequate. Grassy area in between each site is spacious. Close to nature with the sounds of birds fill the area during the day and quiet during the evening. I'm from Michigan so this felt like our up north area. Interesting history about the area is interesting too.

Had a fabulous privately owned site on the river. Great deck, shed, gazebos, outdoor furniture! Wide blacktop roads, large sites, great hiking trails along the river, the real FL. Several of the sites in the Preserve area of the Wilderness can be rented for longer periods.

The Village Area not good for big rigs

We arrived at the park when the after hours guide was on duty. Our site was supposed to be pull through, which we knew we needed due to the size of our unit and the tightness of the village side of the park. Well it wasn't a pull through site and the guide led us down a street that was too sharp a turn for our big rig to make. We ended up hitting a boulder damaging our brand new RV. A costly lesson learned not to trust the guide. They apologized and comped our stay, which was a nice gesture but unfortunately the cost of the weekend stay is minimal compared to the expense of the repairs to our RV. If you have a motor home 40 feet or longer, I don't recommend staying at this park UNLESS you manage to get a site in the reserve estate section of the park. Otherwise, the facility was pretty nice. Cute little restaurant and candy store with very nice staff. Access to the river is a big plus here as well.

Nice park

We stayed here in May of 2017. Fishing was good in stocked pond by the pool. No wifi. The pool is very large and nice. The resteraunt on the premises has good food and the little store is nice too.
The trails into the woods are easy to walk and some of the path is for golf cart. The paths touch upon the river in several different places.

We have been here for a month and have enjoyed our stay. Spaces are fairly large, for Florida camping, and staff very nice. My only complaint is they advertise cable tv with 99 channels but the truth is we get maybe ten or twelve fuzzy stations. They are suppose to have free wifi but when we got here they have a small note on the checkin counter stating wifi is down, turns out wifi has been down well over a year now ! Nice stay but not sure we would come here in the future.

Mixed feelings!

If you have a Class A motorhome and are lucky enough to stay in the Reserve area you are in for a real treat. The area is gated, has wide blacktop streets, large concrete level sites with large concrete patios, and a lot of room between you and your neighbors. There is a great club house in this area for your use. Unfortunately we have a 5th wheel camper and were not allowed in the Reserve area. The Village, which is where the trailer folks have to go, has narrow blacktop streets, some narrow unlevel blacktop sites, and all with no patios. The remainder of the sites are all grass. You cannot back into your site without driving on the grass and, when it rains like it has this winter, you sink into the mud. On some of the sites, if you do not have a four wheel drive truck, you may be calling a wrecker. Since most of the sites are privately owned the best thing to do is find a owner that is not using their site when you are there and sub-lease it from them. Most of those sites have been improved and are very nice. The only way I would come back here is if I owned a Class A. Otherwise, there are other parks in the area.

It has all the quiet with what ever you want only 6 miles away. Or venture 30 miles south to the Villages and enjoy their world for free.

We spent five days here to relax before heading home. The dog park gets an A+. I enjoyed walking around but my grandson did not find a lot to do. We loved the location and thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride at nearby Silver Springs. There was a heavy rain while we were here and everything drained off quickly. No mud to deal with. I appreciate that. We were here off season and I enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness. I did have to drive across to another road ro exit because someone parked his truck with the end out into the street and trees were not trimmed back. Even at that I still scraped on a branch while leaving. The park did honor my Passport America discount to for the full stay. I also enjoyed attending church at Central Baptist Church.
