I didn't realize you could leave a review without staying at a place but that's what some jerk did recently. In fairness we didn't stay either but at least we drove in which is more than the jerk did. We arrived at 10:30 am as we misjudged our timing. It was much too early to stop for the day so we decided to continue on. The overall appearance of the place was such that wa would have stayed I it were later in the day.
Place looked very run down. No access to the river from the park. Looked so bad we didn't even stop. Don't waste your time.
A sign says no river access when you enter the campground but that is only for non campers. There is a huge area to access the Rio Grande. Fishing is good with trout and browns. Water is good. Wildlife is evident including a grouchy badger. Price is right too. Mosquitoes can be a problem however a mosquito spray truck drive through the campground so that should take care of some of it. Hint: rub Irish spring on your skin lightly. Mosquitoes don't loo or it.
