| Rules like a HOA

The lady checking you in is very helpful. She breaks out a tourist map and marks it up with all the spots you must see during your visit. The CG is much bettter than you would think from the first impression when you turn in. WiFi does not eork on the back loop. Rules include things like, "We will charge you $4 if you use your AC." I was not charged, but that is garbage. Other rules include times that kids can't ride their bikes and when you need to have your campfire extinguished. We stayed two nights and was completely sleepless the first due to a peacock on the loose that made a terrible racket. I am not sure of the penalties for killing a peacock in Maine, but I was close to fiding out. The area is great. Kind of a classic beach town. I prefer parks without seasonal campers because they tend to look more like a bad trailer park than a place you go for recreation. Depite the rules, this park has plenty of unsightly areas.

Lots of add on charges here, so if you have kids and pets and want to use air conditioning, plan on spending close to $80 per night for TIGHT spaces with full hookups. Walking distance to short sands beach so that is great considering how crowded it can be there (and how difficult to park). 2 bars of Verizon LTE. Fun Jamaican food stand 2 miles down the road with live music on Saturdays.

All reviews state the truth. However your attitude makes your experience! I've been to more than one campground with rules. Diane and Debbie were very pleasant and more than helpful. The spaces are tight. We camped here in a 38' motorhome with 3slides and a big awning. After a while leveling, we are great . We have site 27. Good site, but not sparkling clean; huge 'yard', table and fire pit. Beautiful trees. Cute garden in front of the office too. Yes there are some who stay here , but everyone was very pleasant . I'd recommend it. (But use common sense and keep your a/c on the DL!)
