Nice and quiet place in the nature with direct trails. Starting point for us to visit San Francisco by BART.

| Mountain top in a eucalyptus grove.

This is the nicest regional park that I have visited in CA so far. The CG is on top of the mountain nestled in a eucalyptus grove that smells incredible and is a natural insect repellent. The views of rolling green hills and the lake below are are simply breathtaking. There are several hiking options, but most will include some steep incline/decline. The trails are clean and wide and all lead to more great views. There are only a few FHU and although they advertise 35' limit, #5 and a few others can accommodate 40' and a car. There are a few dry sites (65 - 70?) that are at least 60' long and have the most amazing views of below if one were to pull in forward (MH). The drive up is shorter from Castro Valley and you will encounter several skinny cyclist in superhero costumes on the way up. Even though their lane is three feet wide, they will ride in the middle of the road so be prepared to make a choice if another car is coming. The ONLY downfall is that motorists speed through (including the park workers), security does not patrol at night (even though I called them), and they do not usually deliver firewood. But they were polite.

A few FHUs but dump stations and water aparat available. Very quiet and spacious. Friendly staff. Showers and restrooms rustic but clean.

| Urban seclusion

Nice secluded park that is fairly quiet. You can hear some city sounds at night at times. Overall a great experience. Full hookup sites that are mostly level with fire rings and picnic tables. Spots can book up, so best to reserve in advance.

And very popular. The best sites are booked far in advance.

Beautifull campground nearby San Fransisco. Full hookups (only 12 so reserve if u need one). Picknick table and fireplace. Don't know about the sanitary (use the RV's) Good value for money. Would stay there again.

Nice and affordable, 20-30 minutes drive to Oakland Ferry. Very dry, a little freaky since there's just one road to the campsite.

We stayed 2 nights in and RV and were positively surprised about the great nature and trails around the campsite. Only downside maybe that there were no showers.

This was our 2nd time staying here and this time for 10 nights. We love it here and will return again and again! It's beautiful, spacious, private, clean, and close to public transportation, shopping, restaurants. Easy pull thru site #5! There's no Cable, nor Wifi, but we had close to 100 antenna TV channels and our hot spot worked just fine. Can't wait to return!

Stay there and nine nights (February 18th through 28th) a 31-foot Class C motorhome. Spacious sites with picnic tables and fire pits. About eight miles from town traveling down a narrow windy road. It's located in a eucalyptus tree Forest. Some of the biggest ones I have ever seen. I guess it had been windy there lately and so there was a lot of tree droppings, bark, ect, on the ground. It burns really well in the fire pit! The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train is located in town which if you want to go to San Francisco is really a nice way to go. Except the parking is full very early we just got lucky and somebody that just got off their security shift was leaving at 9 so we got a spot. I tried to get a uber ride but forget it I guess it's too far back in there. A group of wild turkeys visited every morning. Sometimes deer. staff was very friendly and helpful I even saw one Ranger trying to help a guy fix a leak. they have Recycling and garbage containers were not overflowing like in some places. The only problem we had was some nutcase was banging on the door at 9:30 at night who was lost they don't lock the gate until 10. I think she was high on something.

Beautiful view, large campground, nice wild animals in the park, showers could better no thermostat and not clean. Price is fine, 30 dollar without full hookup. In reach of San Francisco 11 dollar return ticket with BART from Castro valley.

| Leider kein WLAN, sonst perfekt

Lage war toll, Sanitäranlagen waren sauber, die einzelnen Plätze waren sehr groß so dass man Privatsphäre hatte. Zum idealen Platz hätte verfügbares WLAN gefehlt.

| Amazing

This is a great place near the big city. Showers are funny but it is great they have some :) Bit pricy though but considered we had a full-hook up it was just perfectly fine.
